A Sudanese Jamaican American born in Brooklyn, Ayah Eldosougi holds a B.A. in Human Rights with a specialization in Political Science from Columbia University. As a student she was the co-president of Columbia University Students for Human Rights, the co-president of the Muslim Student Association’s Project Naas (the community outreach and social justice branch of MSA), as well as an organizer of the annual minority literary symposium, The Muslim Protagonist. She is also a certified rape crisis counselor, writer and community organizer. Currently, Ayah is the Program Coordinator at Columbia’s Center for the Study of Social Difference and an organizer of Performing Arts Mosaic, a community based non-profit aimed at making the marginalized mainstream.
